June 10, 2025

The Senate is expected to resolve several outstanding issues this week to meet the self-imposed July 4 deadline for advancing the budget reconciliation bill into law—including contentious provisions related to Medicaid. Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) will steer the bill through a busy schedule of committee activities.

Senate Republicans have largely coalesced around implementing Medicaid work requirements, but other components of the Medicaid language in the legislation remain under deliberation, which will likely be revealed on Monday, June 16.

Committee Activity This Week

Both the House and Senate are in session Monday through Friday this week.

The House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing on Wednesday, June 11, titled, “Made in America: Strengthening Domestic Manufacturing and Our Health Care Supply Chain.”
