Participating in the Essential Women’s Leadership Academy was particularly helpful in developing confidence and a comfort with my leadership voice. By spending time with both my mentor and my cohort, I was able to work very explicitly on defining my values, my vision for leadership, and my goals.

America’s Essential Hospitals has interest groups on a variety of topics important to essential hospitals. Any employee of a member hospital is free to join these groups for regular calls, webinars, and in-person meetings at events, such as VITAL.
Leadership Development Programs

For more than 30 years, the program has brought essential hospital leaders together to unflinchingly look at the enormous challenges they face and provide the tools necessary to meet those challenges. The program includes a network of more than 650 alumni, some of whom have become CEOs of essential hospitals, C-suite leaders, and national health care thought leaders.

The Government Relations Academy is a nine-month course designed to help government relations professionals at essential hospitals take their advocacy and communications skills to a new level.

Through the Gage Awards, America’s Essential Hospitals recognizes member hospitals and health systems for successful projects to improve the quality of care and population health.
The awards promote the spread of best practices and innovative programs to other organizations and support the association’s research, policy, and advocacy work by sharing member success stories with external audiences.
