Ten essential hospitals are participating in a new Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) initiative to increase the adoption of health research findings into practice.
PCORI estimates an average 17-year lag between publication of results and their uptake in practice. The Health Systems Implementation Initiative provides $50 million for participating health systems to decrease the lag. Participants will engage in a learning network and can apply for up to $500,000 in additional funding for projects focused on preparing for implementation and program evaluation.

- Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, in San Francisco.
- Temple Health, in Philadelphia.
- Nebraska Medicine, in Omaha, Neb.
- UChicago Medicine, in Chicago.
- UCSF Health, in San Francisco.
- MU Health Care, in Columbia, Mo.
- UF Health, in Gainesville, Fla.
- Valleywise Health, in Phoenix.
