Improving the quality of health care delivery is a principal goal shared by all stakeholders within the sector. But the availability of high-quality health services is as important as accessibility to those services. Transportation plays a vital role in an individual’s overall health and wellness. The ability to move about freely between health care, work, and play settings allows people to effectively engage within, and be an active member of their communities.
To what extent are transportation services related to the health and wellness of individuals? What role do essential hospitals play in transportation? These questions are on our minds as we examine the intersection of health and transportation in urban and rural communities across the United States.
This webinar offered a discussion on how transportation services and health and wellness may be related and provides a glimpse into how two essential hospitals are addressing community transportation needs.
