As hospitals move outside their walls to tackle homelessness, food insecurity and other social determinants of health, they face a growing need for population health professionals to lead this work. But what are the skills these leaders need and how can a hospital know whether it has found the right person for the job?
Our new Toolkit for Hiring and Evaluating Population Health Executives offers a solution. Participants on this webinar explored how the toolkit can help hospitals fill a population health executive position. The toolkit also offers valuable support for professionals already engaged in population health work or seeking a population health role.
The toolkit includes a recommended skill set, template job description, skill assessment worksheets, and other aids. It was developed in the first phase of a 24-month project funded by the Kresge Foundation.
