Providing high-quality care is a long-standing priority for essential hospitals, which work daily to reduce harm and improve outcomes and patient experience. For example, our hospitals have seen patient satisfaction, as measured by the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, rise since 2010 and they match or outperform other hospitals nationally for treating heart failure and heart attacks (see graphic below).1
Essential Hospitals Institute works to disseminate knowledge and research to support members of America’s Essential Hospitals in their continual pursuit of providing superior heath care.
Our work in performance improvement encompasses training and education programs, paired with research of best practices and clinical innovations. We work closely with other leading organizations and the performance improvement field, including the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
