President Donald Trump on Jan. 15 asked Congress to take up his proposed health care plan. The proposal, titled the “Great Healthcare Plan,” outlines a multifaceted approach that asks Congress to codify a most-favored-nation drug pricing policy, fund a cost-sharing reduction program, and require hospitals to prominently post pricing and fees.
The proposal would require congressional action and does not direct executive agencies to take unilateral action.
The outline also calls on Congress to create a program that would deposit funds directly into Americans’ health savings accounts.
