On the Hill: Federal Advocacy Assembly to Set Stage for New Congress, Administration

January 22, 2025
Julia Grady

America’s Essential Hospitals continues its dedicated effort to safeguard member interests in upcoming appropriations legislation and ongoing budget reconciliation discussions. Our Federal Advocacy Assembly, Feb. 24–25, in Washington, D.C., offers a fantastic opportunity for members to connect with lawmakers on critical issues as the 119th Congress begins its work amid these important negotiations.

As a part of the ongoing reconciliation process, the House Budget Committee compiled a comprehensive document outlining options under consideration by House Republicans. While this is not a finalized or narrowed version, it serves as an official committee resource that could provide valuable insights for shaping members’ advocacy strategies.

Committee Activity This Week

The House and Senate are in session Tuesday through Friday following the Martin Luther King Jr. Day federal holiday and presidential inauguration on Monday.

The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions held an executive session on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 10 am ET to prepare for the beginning of the 119th Congress.
