The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) seeks nominations for new commissioners. Commissioners have expertise in health policy and look to influence future Medicaid policy. Letters of nomination and resumes are due Jan. 28, and appointments are effective May 2025.
MACPAC is a nonpartisan legislative branch agency that provides policy and data analysis and makes recommendations to Congress, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the states on a wide array of issues affecting Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
The Commission meets six times a year, where the 17 commissioners provide guidance to MACPAC staff on Medicaid payment, coverage, and access to care, among other topics.
