Michael Nuñez

Nuñez serves as district chief financial officer (CFO) of the El Paso County Hospital District, a position he has held since 2020. He has more than 30 years of financial management experience, with the last 17 years as a CFO. 

He joined University Medical Center of El Paso in 2006 and became CFO in 2010. Prior to UMC, he was CFO and director of finance at Memorial Medical Center. Nuñez also has held senior management positions at REDW LLC; Neff & Company; and Arthur Anderson & Co. 

Nuñez is a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional, a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and a Certified Public Accountant. He holds a bachelor of accountancy degree from New Mexico State University, in Las Cruces, N.M.
