MACPAC Discusses Managed Care, Medicare Advantage at December Meeting

On Dec. 12 and 13, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) hosted its third meeting of the term. Commissioners met publicly to hear public presentations and lead public discussion about key Medicaid issues: 

  • Ensuring accountability of Medicaid managed care organizations 
  • External quality review recommendations 
  • Transitions of care for children and youth with special health care needs 
  • Areas for comment on the proposed Medicare Advantage rule 
  • Medicaid Home- and Community-Based Services self-directed services, timely access to services, workforce, and spending and utilization. 
  • 2024 MACStats

MACPAC meets six times a year and submits reports to Congress in March and June. MACPAC’s next public meeting is Jan. 23, 2025.
