The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) created a new webpage to house guidance and technical assistance documents to support the Medicaid changes in H.R. 1. CMS calls this law the “Working Families Tax Cut” legislation. The page contains information on the Rural Transformation Fund, state directed payments, and provider taxes.
CMS also posted a new informational bulletin: Working Families Tax Cut Legislation, Public Law 119-21: Summary of Medicaid and CHIP Related Provisions, and a corresponding slide deck. The bulletin summarizes H.R. 1 provisions related to Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, including situations when further rulemaking is forthcoming or required, key dates, and opportunities for additional financial support for states. It also identifies provisions in both the Medicare Savings Programs and Enrollment and Eligibility final rules that are and are not subject to the H.R. 1 moratorium on rule implementation.
The association will continue to update our H.R. 1 Resource Center with relevant resources.
