As the year begins with consideration of a reconciliation package alongside government funding needs and various health policy issues facing a March 31 deadline, the association highlighted key priorities that require Congressional attention and support.
These priorities include:
- Protecting Medicaid
- Passing a permanent solution to the threat of Medicaid DSH funding cuts
- Protecting dually eligible patients
- Extending telehealth flexibilities for two years
- Extending the Hospital-at-Home program flexibilities and waivers for five years
- Protecting the 340B program and ensuring all stakeholders comply with the law
- Protecting access to care and supporting the safety net by rejecting so called “site-neutral” payment policies
- Passing legislation to federally define essential hospitals
- Expanding, protecting, and funding the health care workforce
- Passing comprehensive legislation that helps essential hospitals improve their digital infrastructure to protect against cyberattacks
