To have successful conversations about health care, patients need to know what questions to ask and information to gather when they talk with providers and staff. In this fourth installment of the Cost of Care Conversations webinar series, participants learned about tools designed to empower and guide patients as they talk about cost.
First, Veronica Fitzpatrick, DrPH, senior evaluator at the Sinai Urban Health Institute, presented a tool that helps patients anticipate the indirect costs of prenatal care. Then, Joe Sammen, executive director of the Center for Health Progress, presented posters developed alongside patients and staff at community health clinics to support cost of care conversations.
