WASHINGTON — America’s Essential Hospitals, the national association of hospitals devoted to caring for vulnerable people, won two gold awards and an honorable mention in the 2018 dotCOMM Awards for excellence in web creativity and digital communication.
America’s Essential Hospitals received an Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) gold dotCOMM Award for its EssentialCommunities.org website, which houses an interactive map of member programs that target social determinants of health, a resource library, and other tools.
America’s Essential Hospitals won a second gold award for a video celebrating the history of essential hospitals, illustrated by milestones in care achieved by members with a century or more of service to their communities. The association also won an honorable mention for a video on a member hospital’s program to improve care for infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome.
“We’re honored to receive this recognition,” said Carl Graziano, the association’s senior director of communications. “We thank AMCP not only for highlighting our work, but also raising awareness about the vital role essential hospitals play improving health and well-being for millions of Americans.”
America’s Essential Hospitals competed in a field of more than 2,000 entries from throughout the United States, Canada, and 12 other countries. Entries came from many of the world’s largest nonprofit and corporate entities, advertising agencies, public relations firms, and production companies. AMCP judges are industry professionals who look for organizations and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
The association launched EssentialCommunities.org in August 2017 under research funded in part by Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
