America’s Essential Hospitals
Washington, D.C. – America’s Essential Hospitals released the following statement in response to the reintroduction of the Reinforcing Essential Health Systems for Communities Act by Reps. Lori Trahan (D-Mass.) and David Valadao (R-Calif.). The bill would define “essential health systems” and give Congress a tool to target these hospitals with funding, protection, and other support.
“The reintroduction of the Reinforcing Essential Health Systems for Communities Act is a critical step in recognizing the foundational importance essential hospitals play in the nation’s health care system. This bill will help us remain focused on our core mission of providing high-quality care for all, including those who face social and financial barriers to care.“
