America’s Essential Hospitals is closely monitoring the executive orders signed by President Trump since he took office on Jan. 20, and will provide members with regular updates on the status of these orders as they are reviewed by federal courts.

Since the association’s last update on April 15, President Trump signed an executive order aimed at lowering prescription drug prices. The order had 13 mandates, including a hospital acquisition cost survey, exploration of site-neutral payments, and changes in the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program.

The president also signed an executive order instructing the Health and Human Services Secretary to ensure that unqualified immigrants are not receiving funds from Social Security Act programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid.

The association’s latest review of the Trump administration’s executive actions and their potential effects on essential hospitals is available for members.
