America’s Essential Hospitals is closely monitoring the executive orders signed by President Trump since he took office on Jan. 20, as well as related lawsuits challenging the executive orders and other agency actions. The association will continue to provide biweekly lawsuit updates and real-time summaries of executive orders and related agency actions.
Since the association’s Oct. 15 update:
- Another lawsuit challenged the president’s proclamation raising the application fee for employers filing new H-1B visa petitions to $100,000. The case was brought in D.C. federal district court by the Chamber of Commerce.
- In an appeal to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the federal government challenged a preliminary injunction issued by a federal district court in Maryland that halts the revocation of birthright citizenship nationwide.
- A California federal district court granted a temporary restraining order pausing layoffs at the Department of Health and Human Services during the federal government shutdown. The pause applies only to employees represented by plaintiff unions.
Members can access the association’s latest review of the lawsuits against the Trump administration’s actions and a full summary of executive orders from Jan. 20 through Aug. 19.
