The Biden administration on March 13 launched the White House Challenge to Save Lives from Overdose. The nationwide challenge asks stakeholders across sectors to commit to saving lives by increasing access to and training on opioid overdose reversal medications.
The administration encourages organizations to commit to training employees on how to use opioid overdose reversal medications, keep the medications in first aid kits, and distribute medication to employees and customers.
Any organization can make a commitment. For example, several airlines and state and local transit systems have committed to train and equip staff with naloxone and make it available on planes and at stations, respectively. Libraries, school systems, and labor worksites also have made commitments.
