AHRQ Quality Indicators

Date: Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Time: 2:00 PM ET

Learn more about how to use the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (AHRQ) Quality Indicators (QIs) to improve the quality and safety of care. The AHRQ Quality Indicators are standardized, evidence-based quality measures that you can use with readily available hospital inpatient administrative data to measure and track clinical performance and outcomes, including inpatient mortality, surgical complications, and certain hospital-acquired infections.

During this webinar, speakers

  • provided an overview of the AHRQ QIs including their relevance to federal initiatives;
  • highlighted how America’s Essential Hospitals member SUNY Upstate University Hospital uses the AHRQ QIs to improve patient safety and eliminate financial penalties for hospital-acquired conditions; and
  • discussed steps to start applying the AHRQ QIs.
