States and other payers increasingly are adopting value-based payment to manage Medicaid costs and quality, placing providers at risk for performance. Participants heard how the new Essential Hospitals Value-Based Care Collaborative, powered by Premier, can help hospitals like theirs navigate and succeed in value-based care.
The collaborative will help essential hospitals develop capabilities to manage financial risk for Medicaid, uninsured, and underinsured populations and to integrate social determinants of health with value-based care. It also will support employee health plans and Medicare fee-for-service, Medicare managed care, and commercial populations.
Premier’s experts detailed the collaborative and shared how they helped NewYork-Presbyterian Queens succeed in the state’s Section 1115 waiver Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program. This webinar examined how Premier and the hospital’s Performing Provider System worked on waiver application development; clinical implementation of projects; rapid-cycle evaluation to drive change; community-based organization engagement; and other activities.
Along with a system view of the program, the webinar examined New York’s waiver and how it compares with other national trends, as the state has set a high bar for quality and value-based payment.
