Medicaid Payments to Incentivize Delivery System Reform

Date: Tuesday, December 17, 2013

Time: 2:00 PM ET

In recent years, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has grown increasingly reluctant to approve retroactive reimbursement mechanisms, such as uncompensated care pools. Instead, CMS is promoting the use of funding programs that foster improvements in care by holding providers accountable for change.

This webinar accomplished the following:

  • provided an overview of existing delivery system reform incentive pools (DSRIPs) and similar models
  • reviewed the following:
    • trends in federal requirements
    • what it takes to get a program approved
    • the varying structures programs have taken to meet hospital, population health, or state-level Medicaid goals
    • lessons learned thus far
