Florida’s innovative Provider Service Networks (PSNs) offer a model for managing Medicaid lives by partnering with states directly – and valuable lessons of interest to essential hospitals across the country.
Participants explored the journey taken by Broward Health, in Fort Lauderdale, and Memorial Healthcare System, in Hollywood, as they partnered with the Community Care Plan (CCP), a safety-net PSN, to administer a Medicaid accountable care organization serving Broward County.
The CCP is the first PSN in Florida to serve Medicaid enrollees and the only Medicaid plan owned and operated by local hospitals that fill a safety-net role. Participants heard how the CCP provides high standards of health care and health education and works to promote healthy communities.
