Improving Population Health through Education and Employment

Date: Wednesday, December 6, 2017

Time: 2:00 PM ET

Participants learned about Broadlawns Medical Center’s innovative population health programs: Training and Educating for a Career in Healthcare (TECH) and Training and Educating Adults for a Career in Healthcare (TEACH). These programs target high school students and adults from the hospital’s neighboring communities, which have a high concentration of unemployment and poverty. The paid training programs give participants valuable experience in the health care field and the opportunity to work toward a certified nursing assistant license. Broadlawns speakers discussed the impetus for the programs, challenges and key elements of success, and lessons learned.
