Expanding Health Care Access for the Uninsured: VCU’s Story

Date: Wednesday, October 16, 2013

Time: 8:00 AM ET

This webinar highlighted the results of a three-year study on the Virginia Coordinated Care (VCC) Program. VCC, funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, is a 13-year-old Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS) Medical Center program that aims to meet the medical needs of the uninsured.

Participants learned about the enrollment patterns, primary care usage, and emergency department utilization of Central Virginia’s uninsured population. VCC leadership also discussed the goals and barriers to the program from a primary care provider perspective.
