The Evaluative Bias of Language in Health Care

Date: Wednesday, October 27, 2021

Time: 2:00 PM ET

How does the common language that health care providers use to communicate patient status contribute to health care inequities and dehumanize patients?

Participants joined us as leaders from association member Harris Health System, in Houston, identified the evaluative bias of language and explained how to use alternative language that mitigates or reduces bias. They walked away with a strategy to institute a systemwide change and improve patient care at their own hospitals.
