Driving Consumer-centric Virtual Care

Discover Henry Ford Health’s journey through virtual care discovery, maturity, adoption, national pandemic explosion, and sustainment. Participants heard how the Detroit essential hospital challenged health care delivery norms and focused on customer experience to create a culture of “Radical Convenience/Preference.”

The COVID-19 pandemic thrust virtual care delivery to the forefront of health services, increasing virtual encounters at Henry Ford by more than 1,500 percent from 2019 to 2020. Henry Ford’s virtual care department has adapted to provide innovative health care through accessible technology that drives connection and collaboration—when, where, and how it is needed most. Multiple specialties have embraced virtual care options, such as video visits, including device-enabled exams; patient-to-provider e-visits; provider-to-provider e-consults; and more.

Participants heard lessons learned, opportunities, and ongoing challenges that guide Henry Ford’s path forward and can shape your hospital’s virtual care program.
