COVID-19: Effective Leadership

Participants learned what great leaders do amid a crisis and how hospital leaders are managing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Retired Air Force Colonel Korky von Kessel, senior vice president of LifeWings, shared what he’s learned leading people in combat, including the importance of accountability, being decisive but adaptable, controlling chaos, taking action with caution, and staying positive. Executives from members UNM Hospitals, in Albuquerque, N.M., and Jackson Health System in Miami shared their experiences leading during the pandemic.
