The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is scheduled to publish overall star ratings April 21 for more than 3,500 U.S. hospitals. But by failing to account for the social and economic challenges of vulnerable patients, the ratings threaten to disproportionately disadvantage essential hospitals and fall short of the goal to give consumers a useful tool for making health care choices.
On this webinar, participants learned how Lee Memorial Health System, in Fort Myers, FL, prepared for the public release of star ratings with a forward-looking, consumer-focused communications response plan. They also heard about America’s Essential Hospitals advocacy in Washington and policy messages to incorporate in your response.
All members of America’s Essential Hospitals were encouraged to attend. This webinar was of particular interest to marketing and communications professionals, government relations and quality staff, and strategy officers.
