Capturing Uncompensated Care Through Worksheet S-10

Date: Monday, March 12, 2018

Time: 2:00 PM ET

The federal government now uses worksheet S-10 of the Medicare cost report as a key data source to calculate Medicare disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payments. In FY 2019, this practice will expand as regulators start using two years of S-10 data to calculate DSH payments.

Participants learned about recent changes to the worksheet S-10 and ensured that their essential hospital accurately captures the full range of uncompensated costs of patient care. Cost report expert Fred A. Fisher took a deep dive into recent worksheet S-10 revisions and shared hospital best practices for accurate completion.
