Erica Murray, President and CEO of the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (CAPH), described the highlights of obtaining a five-year successor Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP) for CAPH’s 21-member public health care systems. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved the new program, Public Hospital Redesign and Incentives in Medi-Cal (PRIME), in December 2015. PRIME builds on the successful 2010-2015 DSRIP in California with more standardized and outcomes-oriented milestones structures. Murray described the negotiation process with the state and CMS and the major elements of the program.
