Date: Wednesday, August 14, 2019

Time: 2:00 PM ET

Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a disruptive technology in health care. Organizations must be educated, nimble, and prepared to incorporate AI into various initiatives.

Participants joined Nipa Shah, MD, of the University of Florida College of Medicine, to understand basic terminology, possible applications, and challenges to implementing AI solutions. They discovered evidence-based, federally approved inventions, such as imaging software and diabetic retinopathy screening cameras, and their potential to improve data interpretation speed and augment clinical decision-making.

Participants also explored the business, legal, and ethical considerations vital for organizations considering AI processes, including access to care, cost, and reliability. They left with a better understanding of AI and how this tool can help them meet their organization’s challenges.
