  • create a culture of inclusiveness;
  • research best practices for sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) data collection;
  • address emerging SOGI data collection issues with their electronic health record system;
  • prepare leadership and front-line staff for the collection of SOGI data; and
  • utilize PDSA cycles of improvement to test and improve data collection processes.
