In April, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released the Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System proposed rule for fiscal year 2023. The rule includes several equity proposals affecting essential hospitals, including new equity measures and requests for additional information about equity in the context of specific policy topics, such as maternal health and climate. Association staff walked through these equity proposals in detail and provided members with the opportunity to ask questions.
