Addressing Processes, Culture to Boost Patient Experience

This was the final installment of a four-part webinar series that showcased hospitals that moved innovative ideas into action to enhance patient experience.

Participants learned how University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital embarked on a cultural transformation to earn sustained success in enhancing the quality and value of patient experiences. Hospital staff shared how the “Reaching for Excellence” campaign, which focuses on staff development, accountability, high standards and tactics, such as hotel-style room service, paved the way to outstanding results on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS).
