Violence Intervention: A Population Health Approach

WEBINAR DATE: April 11, 2018

Essential hospitals are on the front lines of interpersonal violence in their communities. Besides caring for victims, they also can serve as a point of intervention. Participants learned about two innovative hospital-based programs that engage victims of violence and help them on their journey to resilience and recovery.

Speakers from Santa Clara Valley Medical Center spoke about their Trauma to Triumph program, which provides outreach, mentorship, and community service to victims of violence. Participants also heard from Regional One Health about Rx for Change, a program that connects victims of violence with community resource partners. These programs reduce violence-related reinjury and recidivism by empowering patients and targeting social determinants of health.
