The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a webinar Dec. 13, from 2:30 to 4 pm ET, on strategies identified by the Medicaid Innovation Accelerator Program to treat substance use disorders (SUDs).

The webinar, “Emergency Department Treatment and Follow-Up Strategies for Opioid Use Disorder,” will focus on strategies to successfully treat opioid use disorders in hospital emergency departments (EDs). A speaker from association member Boston Medical Center will discuss the hospital’s Project ASSERT (Alcohol & Substance abuse Services, Education and Referral to Treatment) and Faster Paths to Treatment programs.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about innovative approaches to treating SUDs in EDs;
  • hear lessons learned in creating and implementing these programs; and
  • pose questions to the speakers about their programs
