The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a new continuing education video on recognizing infection risks in medical equipment.
The video is the third in a six-part series produced by CDC and Medscape about the challenges to preventing infections in health care facilities. Viewers will learn how to:
- recognize infection risks related to medical equipment;
- incorporate infection risk assessment into equipment purchasing decisions; and
- create an action plan to combat infections linked to medical equipment.
Access to this and other videos in the series requires a no-cost registration to Medscape. The next video in the series, on infection transmission risks associated with nonsterile glove use, will be posted in July.
