Providers looking to reduce hypoglycemic adverse drug events (ADEs) can enroll in a free online course to learn strategies to help their patients with diabetes. The online course, produced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, will teach providers to use these strategies to impact patient outcomes:
- health literacy to provide personalized care
- instruction to help patients understand and act on information to prevent ADEs
- application of evidence-based guidelines for individualized glycemic target goals
- patient-centered communication strategies, including teach-back and shared decision-making
Continuing education credit is available to participants who complete the course.
