Patient Safety
The prevention of patient harm and adverse medical events — such as health care–associated infections, surgical site infections, pressure ulcers, and medication errors — is central to patient safety. Hospitals are held accountable for patient safety through the Hospital-Acquired Condition (HAC) Reduction Program and other initiatives.
Member of America’s Essential Hospitals are leaders in infection control and antibiotic stewardship, among other areas of patient safety. The association works to ensure members have the most up-to-date, evidence-based standards and training associated with the best patient outcomes.
