The National Quality Forum (NQF) Measure Applications Partnership (MAP) on Feb. 1 submitted recommendations to the Department of Health and Human Services on 74 performance measures under consideration for use in 16 federal health care programs.
Performance measures form the basis of national pay-for-performance and public reporting programs, which affect 55 million Americans enrolled in Medicare and their health care providers, according to NQF.
MAP workgroups conducted a two-month review of measures for use in clinical, hospital, post-acute care, and long-term care settings. America’s Essential Hospitals is an organizational member of the MAP Hospital Workgroup.
MAP will issue four additional reports with recommendations in February and March.
