CDC Launches No-Cost Continuing Education on Opioid Prescribing

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) has created two new online training modules to educate providers on safe prescribing of opioids for chronic pain.

The no-cost modules, which include clinical scenarios, tools, and resource libraries, are part of a training series based on the CDC guidelines for prescribing opioids for chronic pain.

The first module focuses on patient factors to consider when initiating or continuing opioid therapy. The second module walks through quality improvement processes outlined in the CDC guidelines.

Additional training modules can be found on the CDC Interactive Training Series website.
