International Infection Prevention Week Focuses on Countering Misinformation

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) shares new resources on its 50th anniversary this International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), Oct. 16–22.

This year’s theme, The Future is Infection Prevention: 50 Years of Infection Prevention, showcases the science behind infection prevention, the importance of countering misinformation, and ways to inspire the world’s future infection preventionists to join the fight.

APIC released a promotional toolkit that includes sample social media posts, logos and infographics, and more. Essential hospital leaders are encouraged to download and share these no-cost resources.

On Oct. 18, at noon ET, APIC will host a Twitter chat to discuss countering misinformation to protect public health. Use #IIPWChat to follow the chat.

Contact Senior Director of Policy Erin O’Malley at eomalley@essentialhospitals.org or 202.585.0127 with questions.
