The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of Minority Health will host a forum to discuss how the opioid epidemic affects minority communities and how organizations partner to combat the crisis and improve behavioral health.
The event, Forum on Opioids: Strategies and Solutions for Minority Communities, will take place April 25 from 10 am to noon ET. It is held in partnership with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration Office of Behavioral Health Equity.
The forum, which recognizes National Minority Health Month, is part of ongoing CMS work to improve health equity and highlight the role of partnerships in reducing health disparities. The agency recently released a report detailing the quality of care received by Medicare Advantage enrollees. Additional educational materials are available for download from the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health.
