The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will host its annual National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) training course from March 20-24.
The NHSN is a voluntary, Internet-based tracking system for health care-associated infections (HAIs) that integrates patient and health care personnel surveillance systems managed by CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. The training aims to enable participants to effectively use data from the surveillance system to improve the safety of patients, as well as health care personnel.
In-person spaces no longer are available. The CDC encourages hospitals to allow dedicated, uninterrupted time for infection preventionists to log in and participate in the NHSN live web streaming. Check the NHSN site for web-streaming links and information and archived materials.
