When disaster strikes, health care providers must be equipped to communicate with people from all cultural backgrounds. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Emergency Partners Information Connection will host an April 24 webinar on Cultural Competence in Preparedness Planning at 1 pm ET.
The webinar will feature Julio Dicent Taillepierre, MS, public health analyst and team leader for the initiatives and partnerships team in the CDC Office of Minority Health and Health Equity. It aims to help public health communicators reduce health disparities in the event of a disaster by tailoring communication to various cultural backgrounds.
Learn why cultural competency matters during emergencies, explore the potential consequences of being culturally incompetent, and gain resources to help build understanding.
Join the webinar online, or via phone by dialing 1.646.876.9923 and entering the webinar ID: 204 188 774.
