The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released the first in a series of online training resources aimed at helping providers follow opioid prescribing guidelines issued in March 2016.
The training module provides an overview of the guidelines, including benefits and key recommendations. Clinicians who complete the training will be able to:
- explain why the guidelines are necessary;
- describe the guidelines’ key recommendations; and
- communicate the benefits of implementing the guidelines.
This is the first of eight learning modules CDC plans to release this year. The training modules will include interactive patient scenarios, videos, tips, and other resources.
