The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this month will host a webinar focused on training hospital epidemiologists in the interpersonal skills necessary to handle a disease outbreak.
The webinar — hosted in conjunction with the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America — is part of the joint Outbreak Response Training Program. The webinar aims to train hospital epidemiologists on:
- six core principles of crisis emergency risk communication;
- developing crisis communication plans;
- creating crisis communication templates using tools and resources offered by CDC; and
- the importance of tailoring communications to the relevant audience.
