CDC Webinar: Communicating During Disease Outbreaks

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this month will host a webinar focused on training hospital epidemiologists in the interpersonal skills necessary to handle a disease outbreak.

The webinar — hosted in conjunction with the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America — is part of the joint Outbreak Response Training Program. The webinar aims to train hospital epidemiologists on:

  • six core principles of crisis emergency risk communication;
  • developing crisis communication plans;
  • creating crisis communication templates using tools and resources offered by CDC; and
  • the importance of tailoring communications to the relevant audience.
