The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has added new resources to its website on measles to help providers prepare for and respond to outbreaks of the disease, such as the ongoing, multistate outbreak linked to California’s Disneyland resort.
The CDC site now includes information about recent measles cases and outbreaks, as well as an updated online map showing cases connected to the Disneyland outbreak.
Other resources for health care and public health professionals include these:
- a CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report article about California’s measles outbreak
- a drop-in/matte article for publications that target health care professionals to educate readers about measles and encourage them to “think measles”
- a short Public Broadcasting Services video interview of Anne Schuchat, MD, talking about the dangers associated with measles parties and MMR vaccine recommendations.
