The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) encourages hospitals to join the Safety Program for Improving Antibiotic Use, a national, year-long antibiotic stewardship project that begins in December.
Registration is open for a one-hour introductory webinar about the project, which will be held on three dates:
The project — led by Johns Hopkins Medicine and NORC at the University of Chicago — is no-cost for participating hospitals and seeks to preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics and reduce harms caused by inappropriate use. Participants will examine the upstream factors involved in antibiotic use and receive antibiotic use guidelines, coaching, online education, patient education materials, and other tools.
